Welcome To My IT Journey!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Javier Lopez Quezada, and I’m embarking on an exciting journey into the world of IT. I’ve always been passionate and fascinate by technology and computers, and after a successful career as a 3D Artist, I’ve decided to follow this passion and make a transition into an IT-focused career.

My Purpose For This Blog

This blog was started as a way for me to document my journey as I study for certifications, build home lab projects, and work towards entering the IT field. I wanted a place to document whatever I was working on mainly for myself, but also for anyone else that might be in a similar path. While learning IT and new skills is incredibly rewarding and fun, it can feel overwhelming at times. I hope that by sharing my experiences, including any failures and successes, it can help me and others stay motivated and accountable.

What I Am Working On

As I delve into this world, I am currently focused on the basics. Right now, I am particularly interested in Cloud and Cybersecurity and excited to slowly learn more about these areas and others. With that in mind, you have to learn to walk before you can run, and so my first goals are foundational:

• Earning Foundational certifications: CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+
• Exploring and building hands-on experience through home lab projects
• Practicing key IT skills like troubleshooting, scripting, and networking fundamentals
• Transition into an entry-level IT role

What You Can Expect Here

I will be using this blog to document my path into the field, including:

• Home Lab Setups & Experiments – As I experiment with my home lab and add services, I will be writing and documenting my steps, configuration, and problems.
• Certification Study – I will be writing down any lessons, tips, and results as I study for certifications.
• Lessons Learned – I will be very open with any mistakes, stories, and key takeaways.
• Job Search – In this tough market, I will be documenting my progress as I try to break into the field.
